Long distance relationships do work as long as the two people are willing to put the work into it. It takes a lot of trust, loyalty, commitment and communication. Ways to help are the following, internet (Instant messaging, web cams, email), phone calls to one another, creating a blog to leave sweet messages and/or love lettes, and always being emotionally available. If you can, make sure you both take time to visit one another. Even its just for the weekend (plane trip). I have invested two years in a long distance relationship, then another year when my husband was deployed in Afghanistan. Needless to say I had my happily ever after and we are married. I would say that the long distance relationship actually made us stronger.. we are fully aware of what is standing in front of us, not taken it for granted and it has really strengthen our communication.

I think it depends upon how long the relationship has to be long distance. If you have plans in the near future to move closer together, then it could be fine. If it's going to be years that you live a 7 hour drive from each other, it will get old quickly and fade away, in my opinion.

I have a long distance relationship too. You just gotta reassure each other of your trust, love and committment. Unfortunately you gotta do it over the phone. Verbal affirmations are a huge must in a long distance relationship.

you gotta have faith on you and on your partner, cause at times you both can be vulnerable for some reason. keeping in touch everyday no matter what's the circumstance is. misunderstandings are inevitable but both your should know each other so try to talk on the issues more than making your point right. hiding facts will make any individual make suspicious, doubtful.

If both of ya'll are trying to make it work then your options are endless. If ya'll are both willing to make the necessary sacrafices, then you should be able to stay together as long as ya'll please. Don't give up on it if you feel that it is worth staying together.
