You have the trinity in the 1st chapter of Genesis. Genesis 1:26 says " ¶ Then God(singular) said, "Let Us(plural) make man in Our(plural) image, according to Our(plural) likeness;
Here you have a plurality of persons inside the one God. This is just one of the many places where the trinity is taught in the bible even though the word trinity is never used.

there are various suggestions in Judaism for using the plural right here. in accordance to Rashi, God is speaking, yet to no longer absolutely everyone specifically. Saadia mentioned that it replaced into used to differentiate God above different beings. Nachmanides theory it replaced into God addressing the Earth as a greater physically powerful half in the advent (guy is created from earth & endowed with a spirit). for my area, i think of the Genesis tale is observed from an beforehand custom which had multiple gods and this practice infiltrated the Biblical textual content cloth, in all hazard by twist of fate. i assume we will in no way be responsive to and on the least it exhibits that we won't be able to completely comprehend scripture or the character of God.

Who was "Gods" talking to? The term Elohim, "God" has the I-M ending that's structurally plural in Hebrew. Many interpreters talke it as the "royal we".
