Talk to him and read to him a lot (at this age books with pictures are best- engage him in the story by describing what the pictures are telling- ask questions...then read to him the actual words in the book when he is almost falling asleep...that way he has no choice but to listen)-...get educational toys that are playful and colorful. We have a store here called "education works"....maybe you have a store like that in your area, too.

If you really want to increase your kid's intelligence then don't let toys to help him/her. Nature is the best teacher. Try to bring him /her up naturally. Let him/her play with his/her friends, pets and nature itself. But if you begin finding intelligence in toys then I just can say is sorry man! Better read biographies of intelligent people around the world.

First, turn off the t.v. Read to your child. If they don't want to sit still through reading, look at and talk about picture books. Play with your child. Talk to your child, not baby talk, talk to them like they are intelligent human beings. Use good vocabulary, use proper english to describe body parts. Count things out to your child when you are say giving them some little foods to eat.
Look for ways to fill your child's head with information while making it fun.

The more you interact, sing, play, hug, love etc. (with) your child, the more intelligent, well rounded and compassionate they will be. You can never give too much of yourself to your child, although you do need to make sure you take care of yourself to keep yourself balanced, as some parents go overboard and sacrifice their own happiness for their child.
