Seriously, I probably get fast food twice a week, and everytime there is something wrong with the order, e.g. they have given me the wrong burger, I have chicken w/ bones instead of boneless chicken, my potato & Gravy has leaked all through the bag..I didn't get a spoon or refresher towels, they forgot to put my chips in.. I didn't get dressing w/ my salad.. this is stuff that has happened to me in just the past month.. Do these kids not give a stuff about us cutomers or am I really unlucky, I am usually in a rush when I get fast food, so I dont get to check my order till I get home..and I shouldn't have to check everytime anyway they should read the order correctly.. it's that or when I place an order for something I'm craving they have run out.. can you believe I went to a burger place the other night and they had run out of buns?? Argghhh.. it's starting to drive me mad.. does it drive anyone else nuts??

Well, where I live, a majority of the people who work in those places actually have limited English (they speak either Creolle or Spanish), which contributes to the problem.
Also, as someone else already mentioned, they don't take pride in thier work, or generally just don't seem to care. They may consider it a job, rather than a career, but in many cases, this is the best job they can get. If they are getting benefits and a decent wage, they should take it seriously.

A few years ago at work we started ordering dinner for seven people from all over Chicago. It's not just the fast food places. The rib houses, the hot dog stands, sit down restaurants, outback, etc. We would even fax in our orders so they would have them in writing. Still 1 out of three times they would make a mistake. Forget entire diners, totally wrong orders. we started calling and asking the managers for credit "the next time" we came by.
Make sure you complain. It's the squeaky wheel that get the "Grease"...

Because many of the people who work in fast food environments are there because they did not do well enough in school to continue with higher education and get a better job.
They don't take their work seriously because it's a job, not a career, so your order is not handled properly.

Because the people who work there really do not care. They have no pride in service and really don't care whether the customer is satisfied or not. Actually, that's harsh, some do care but I think at times they get so busy that they miss things.

yes this is the reason i do not go to burger king anymore. I asked for a whopper junior with cheese and bacon and welll... what do you know ALL it had on it was cheese and bacon. GGGGGGGGAAAAHHHHHH!! i was so friggin mad. then i called the BK i went to and the manager was rude with me and barely spoke a lick of english and told me that is what i asked for. I was like no a** hole i said i wanted bacon and cheese on it, not ONLY bacon and cheese. I don't go back. i hate fast food!

mc donalds are the same my husband will only eat a big mac with red sauce and onions it takes longer to get and most times it has everything on it ,when i get it i just say sorry im opening that up to look at it because its nearly always wrong ,they give me a weird look but if its wrong i do a told you so smile back !

It drives me nuts too. I think it tends to be young people that get it wrong because they were not concentrating on the order.

The employees get paid minimum wage and get no respect from anybody. If you want better service you have to pay more.
