I am getting my five bridesmaids engraved bracelets as a gift. However, for two of my girls (my sisters), I have no idea what their wrist sizes are!! My mom (amazingly enough) doesn't know, I don't know any of their friends, neither of them have boyfriends, and there's literally NO ONE left that I can ask to see if they know (and I have asked EVERYONE). So I have to find out on my own. The bracelets are being specially made, and it will be difficult and costly to have them resized. So if I really want to get them these specific bracelets (and I really, really, do, they're beautiful!), how can I get their wrist size without being obvious? (It can be a general wrist size, but I don't want it to be way too small or way too big.)

Oh and I forgot to add this--I suck at 'guess-timating' sizes. I can't tell just by looking. Also, they don't have any bracelets at my parents' house, and they both go to college at least four hours away from me, so I can't just drive there and grab a bracelet that they own to get the size from that.

Why don't you lie and say that you need their wrist sizes because you plan on having all of the bridesmaids wear corsages no their wrists during wedding ceremony? Or instead say you need the wrist measurement for lace/satin gloves you plan to order for the bridesmaids to wear.

Call them and tell them you need it for something else. Wrist corsages, jackets, gloves, a wrist purse (I forget what they are called), or some other accessory.

Add 1/4" to their numbers for a comfortable fit. The bracelet shouldn't be tight on their wrists.

Then tell them a week or so later, you changed your mind, decided against it, it's not offered anymore, etc... They will probably forget about it until they see the bracelets.

Good Luck!

Tell a white lie. Tell them you are considering a dressy and classy light over jacket for the brides maids dresses just in case the weather changes. Tell them the tailor will need "EXACT" neck, bust, tip of shoulder to wrist joint and "a measurement around the wrist" so that the tailor can properly quote you on the idea. After they give you the measurements, tell them you discounted and tosses out the idea. That should work.

Congrats

tell them you are going to play a game at the wedding or before party. Tell them the game will be a surprise game and it is important to prepare for it now.
send them a bright colored strip of paper and ask them to place on the wrist and mark the point where it overlaps. then have them send it back to you.
you can take that and wrap it around different sized bracelets to get your fit.
when they arrive the game is the surprise of a bracelet!

Tell them that you have a bracelet that someone gave you and ask what their size is to see if it would fit them.

next time you see them show them a bracelet that you have " just bought for your self " - encourge them to try it on ....then it should give you a good idea of what size their wrists are ...

You can try to get them together and have your mother to measure them for bridesmaid dresses. while measuring them, take a measurement of their wrist. The measuring process can have so many different measurements taken that they will think nothing of the wrist measurement.

good luck and i hope this helps

Seriously, who *does* know their wrist size?? If it's such a hassle to get this done, then pick another gift.
