Years ago I made the best chocolate chip cookies and everyone loved them. Now and for a few years, every single time I try to make them, they just do not taste good.
I have tried several different recipes, even my aunt's homemade cookbook recipe. I follow the directions, but no matter what they just do not taste good. I have not tried for a couple years until tonight, and even have a brand new oven this time, but still they are gross. My son doesn't like them either.
Why don't they turn out good anymore!!!! ?

It's something you're putting in the recipe. Or there could be something wrong with your taste buds.
What did you put in the years ago chocolate chip cookies? Obviously it wasn't all these different recipes. Try to remember what you added. Nuts, chocolate chips, butter, flour, salt, vaniilla, sugar, raisins, oatmeal, brown sugar, molasses? Just a guess at some ingredients you may have used at the time. What were the measurements on the ingredients you did use?

have you check to see how old you backing power is, some of the cheaper flowers just don't bake right . chocolate cookies and most cakes just tasted nasty .all chocolate chips you get you need to check how old they are some times you find that there expired and stores sale them. new oven won't make them taste better just help keep right temp.

It depends on a lot of things. Down to the type of butter you use. Or do you use shorting? What kind of choc. chips do you use? Try using the recipe on back of Nestle Toll house choc. chips semi sweet...use less sugar for softer cookies.

Buy ALL NEW ingredients. Do not use any of the stuff you already have at home. I mean everything down to the butter and sugar. I have found out that mine doesn't taste as good with day old ingredients.
