Honestly, all those fancy "diets" will allow you to lose dramatic weight but in the end, you're likely to gain it all back... and possibly even more.
Best thing in all honesty, is to change your lifestyle. Just cut your portions of food and exercise at least 30 minutes, 4-5x a week... you'll see results. You shouldn't lose any more than 1-2 pounds a week. It's the best and healthiest way to lose weight and you're more likely to see long term results.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. 1. Start moving. One of the most effective weight loss strategies around is exercise. 2. eat lots of veggies and fruits, have some protein, but not a ton, and stay away from stuff with sugar. 3. Eat small, healthy meals and snacks several times a day. 4. Team up. Get together with a friend who has much the same goals as you. 5. Think health. Don't try to lose weight. Instead, try to get healthy. 6. Get rest. When your body is tired. 7. Drink water. 8. Don't quit. look at http://www.theaones.com/answers/weight-loss/what-is-the-best-diet-that-works.htm for a complete Healthy Weight Loss Program

Most diets work, its the people on them that cause them to fail.
The cabbage diet works really well really fast, but gives you terrible wind, and the smell is evil
Hospitals sometimes use this diet on heart op patients prior to an op, when they want the overweight patient to lose weight fast, causing less strain on the heart... shouldnt think they need an anisthaetic either with those smelly farts.
Put cabbage diet in to a few search engines, see what comes up.
Basically its a cabbage stewed in french onion soup mix, with additional onions added as per your personal taste... you can eat as much of it as you like, whenever you feel hungry, and at certain times of the week you are allowed things like steaks or proper meals.
Its about a 2 week course but the results are phenominal...you may have no friends left at the end of it though haha

I swear by the South Beach Diet. It allows you to eat all food groups including carbs (any diet that eliminates carbs is not good or balanced)...it allows you to eat good foods. A lot of the products are produced by Kraft. Look in the snack isles and also the frozen isles. It focuses on cutting calories, getting an adequate daily amount of nutrition, and of course exercise.

Go to the link below for more information on the diet.

Sorry to say this, but it's called the LIPS diet. You keep them together except for the intake of water and unsweetened drinks and food to the calorific value of no more than 1000 calories whilst at the same time ensuring that that food consists of a good mix of all the vitamins, carbohydrates, proteins and fats necessary to maintain a healthy body.

Have you tried the Hayes plan. Basically, you don`t mix protein and carbs in the same meal, it really works, and is healthy, you could have protein, salad and veg together, (salads, and veg are neutral) or your carbs with neutral food, but you have to wait 4 hours between your meals. There are a lot of other neutral foods as well, Google it, get a list of what you can eat with what. Everyone i know, including myself, lost weight on this plan, especially around the stomach area.
