You can tell when your dog has reached his bone structure growth by running your fingers down his longest ribs.. If they are hard and smooth, they are mature, but if bumpy or knobby, they are still growing or maturing..However, he may still have muscle mass yet to mature.

How about this: you spell the breed correctly. Great Dane. And the absolute minimum is 12 months but it's best to let them reach 18 months. And the world really doesn't need another back yard breeder. It's cruel to breed dogs just for the money. There are many homeless pets. If people want a dog they should go to the humane society.

I have a book called Little Guides and it says a great dane usually matures at about 20 months. Thats when you can give him full exercise routine. The standard minimum age of an adult is 10 years, providing it is sound and healthy.

The minimum age for a Dog, any dog to become sexually mature is between 6 months (small breeds) and 10 months to a year for larger breeds. A male puppy while urinating sits down like a female dog when young, the moment the Dog lifts his leg up in normal way he is deemed to have achieved maturity.
