Now i dont just want to not talk to them because a week from now they will proberly come around again but with out the drama... Should i just give it up and do what she do? be nice to her because it will frustate her and she wont know what to say next or how to act around you. You don't need to go down to her level as you will be branded as childish as well even more than her.

Firstly, if you think they will turn on you; don't loan them your trust. Remain detached until such time that you believe you can be friends with them, if ever.

In such a situation I adopt the sit back and listen strategy. Be polite, maybe even too polite! - and listen critically to everything they say, watch everything they do. After a short time it should become clear to you what sort of people they really are as you gradually compare their values with your own.

It might seem like elitist manipulation, but at the end of it all you come out with a clearer opinion of these new 'friends' and a whole lot of evidence why they can be trusted or not.

Do not get involved with the drama she causes. Be polite to her like you would anyone else but dont expect to be best buddies with her. Keep your distance and dont get pulled into her negativity. The in-laws can cause grief fro everyone, so dont tell her anything you dont want someoen else to know and never get into a back stabbing session with her as it will come back to bite you. Trust Me, been there

You will view her behaviour as childish, then obviously you do not approve of it. If you do not approve of such behaviour, then why would you want to behave that way?
Even if she's going to be your relative, does that mean you have to behave like her?
Be yourself. You are the master of your own destiny. So its up to you to show that you are capable of your own behaviour and not be influenced by someone new who comes into your life! By being strong in your values and character, you will command respect from others!

Drop her as a friend who needs enemies when you have a friend like that. I would just exclude the person from my life and be done with the problem.

Always be aware that she will not likely change and will ALWAYS end up turning on you. She may be your relative, but you don't have to be friends with her. Limit your contact and be honest why.

be polite but keep your distance....relatives can be a hard thing to deal with and it sounds like you want to keep things peaceful. be polite but don't go out of your way to be extra nice and what not. just be polite.
