How's the Elk hunting in PA. I'm a resident and hopefully getting close to drawing a tag. Doe's PA offer trophy bull 6x6 Elk!? Should I get an outfitter(guide)? How much can an outfitter be? Any info will help. Thanks.

If you are lucky enough to get a tag, the game commission has a list of authorized outfitters and guides that would go with you. Not sure how much they charge and would depend on who you get. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity though, so you have to remember that no matter how much it costs.

And yes there are elk in PA. I see them all the time on my way to camp in Cameron county. More concentrated in Elk county but they are working their way through North Central PA.

Yes, We have lots of big bulls. I spend a lot of time in the middle of Pa. elk hunting units. Unfortunatly most hunters that draw, shoot the first bull they see. I see several full beam 6 by 6 bulls every year but i see alot more spindle racks. If you do not have the time to ckeck out the area where you drew. GET ahold of the pa game commision by phone or online for help. they want you to fill your tag and they get paid to help you.
