I believe it's Betty Crocker that came out with the single serve, microwavable deserts. If you are interested in baking a regular size cake, invest in a convection/microwave oven. They usually cost more than a standard range (gas and electric), but having both comes in handy when it's time for holiday cooking.
Good luck!

I have made a good coffee cake in a microwave once, and someone else I know made a good pinapple upside down cake too. There are ways to cook things you normally wouldnt in a microwave, so dont give up.
I think that some of the recipies Ive heard of could have come from this book, but Im not sure.

You won't get an even layer and the texture is different than cake cooked in a conventional oven. The are light and moist but they dry out quickly. Several years ago they had some microwave cake mixes but I don't think they went over very well for the reasons I just mentioned.

No. You use an oven to bake. And I wouldn't think you'd want to put a cake in a microwave.

I've heard of people using microwaves to bake cupcakes, but they don't puff up the same way they do in an oven. Basically, you can save a few minutes of time to sacrifice quality.
