Alcohol is a source of energy/calories. There are 4: fat, protien, carbohydrates, and alcohol. Therefore, even rubbing alcohol will have some calories. Generally, the stronger the "proof" (the more alcohol it contains) the fewer calories an alcoholic beverage will contain. Vodka, Whiskey, Gin, etc. are good examples of low calorie drinks. When you go mixing that hard liquor into fruit juice and other high sugar concoctions, the calories really add up. Light beer contains about 100 calories per 12 ounces, while regular beer has about 175. Red wine has slightly less calories than light beer. White wine has more. Margharitas and things like that--forget about it. Very high.

Nope. Vodka most certainly has calories, and the double proof vodka (I like Stolys) has twice the calorie level!

Alcohol breaks down to sugar, therefore all alcoholic drinks have caloroes. The only drink that doesn't have any is water.
