It depends on why the immigrants came to the US whether they will be happy or not. Some people come here because they can earn more money. These "economic" immigrants may disagree totally with the American way of life, including democracy.
I live in SE Michigan where there is the largest concentration of Muslims (permanent residents and citizens) outside the Middle East. Many of them are very anti-American. You can read about some of the attitudes in this article by Debbie Schlussel.

Many Yes-some no.
It must make some breathe easier with all that is going on in today's world.
My neighbor is a Legal immigrant. There are benefits especially if your older. She is very happy here. Another does not like it here-but is glad she is legal.
I think some are unhappy with the world in general and America has it's problems too. Some might not to want to be a legal citizen for many reasons .
It would be nice to hear from those who went through the process. If they regret it.

My next door neighbor is a legal immigrant from Germany
and he is more patriotic than I am. He loves America.
I also know a few people from Ireland who are here legally and they love the many opportunities that are here in America.

Yes. The legal ones want to become Americans. The illegal ones want to send money home to their families.
Many people in other countries complain about American imperialism when I think what we are trying to do is export the American way of doing things which creates opportunities so people can stay in their own countries..

My neighbor is a legal immigrant. It took him 10 years of waiting to come to the US and another 7 to get his citizenship.
He is a damn fine man and a good American.

I've only known one who complained about regretting becoming a citizen. When it is suggested that she still had her Japanese citizenship and could go back any time, she quickly changes the subject. Thus I'd say it is unanimous among those I know.

most are really happy to be americans, and i know alot that are upset with the way alot of illegals have gone about things. they dont approve nor agree with it for the fact that they had to do it the HARD way and dont feel that they should get an easy way out.

That's a good question but I am not really sure. They should be but some of them were marching right along side of the illegals on May 1 so who knows.
