Let's say it is Italian leather and you wanted to put your cell phone, inhaler, and baseball cards in it. (guys don't have purses)

I have never taken baseball cards to a funeral. I'm not sure why you need the baseball cards with you unless it's for the deceased.
If you need a pack to hold your stuff, then take a pack. (I don't think it matters if it is leather or not) You don't want to be dragging a lot of stuff around. Probably need the inhaler with you. If you take the cell phone, MAKE SURE IT IS TURNED OFF DURING THE FUNERAL!!!! Again, I am confused about the baseball cards...

Yes, it IS distasteful to wear a dead animal to a funeral. Damn, the person's passed away, and you're too busy with your CELL PHONE!?! Leave. It. In. The. CAR. Have another lady hold onto your inhaler since you think guys don't have purses, you know, unless you're going alone. I don't really think you'll need it to sit down and listen to crying people talk, though. And baseball cards...? What the f*ck? What are we? 12? Look at your precious cards at home!

I don't think it would be distasteful it would only depend on the contents cell phone and inhaler yes but not baseball cards unless you are going to put them to rest with the coffin

For one thing, a person should not have a cell phone at a funeral. Talk about rude and inconsiderate. If the belt pouch is small and non obtrusive it should be okay. There are men with bad backs who can not carry a wallet in their pocket so a small belt pouch is good.

It's tasteless for a man to use any kind of pack. It's tasteless for a man to stuff his pockets. It's tasteless for a man to walk around without his things.
Oh, yeah, and having a cell phone is horrible too. Never mind if it's turned off, and you have it in case your car dies to and from the wedding, etc.

Who cares what you look like? The important thing is is that you showed up.... you went to support a grieving friend, show that you care. Doesn't matter what you wear.
