Yes, because Americans means from America, and America is the whole continent from Canada to Argentina. Most people in the continent are Catholics.
Now if you mean most US citizens, then I don't think they are.

I am non denominational. Which means I am a follower of Jesus but not terribly different than Catholic faith. Most Protestant religions are branched off the catholic. They changed things as time went on but believe in the virgin birth of Jesus. Believe He was the son of God. Died, was buried and came back to life. He saved us by his shedding of blood. We don't worship Mary or pray to her, only Jesus and God.

No I believe their are more Catholics in Europe than the United States.Also south America has more.
