What will go best with my medium oak floors? It's not a huge room.

It depends on the color of your furniture. I recommend going to www.behr.com, where you can browse colors and see them on walls in sample rooms. It really helps because sometimes the little paint samples look totally different in color when they are plastered all over the room. Good Luck!~

The rule of thumb used to be paint a smaller room is light colors, but that does not hold true any more... You can paint it any color you want.. we are in the mist of painting our small living room a color called Cinnamon.. and it is beautiful !! the trim is a dark eggs shell and the ceiling is about 4 shades darker than the egg shell.. it is all looking great.. was really tired of all white and just really went for it this time, and so glad that I did.. Just pick you favorite color and go for it.. Reds are really big now a days. and there are any number of Hughes you can get in the red family.. You could spend an afternoon just looking at paint chips.. But do try to paint your ceiling a similar color.. you will be pleasantly surprised at how much you love it !!it will make your room pop !! You can get floating shelves to put your treasures on , and the room will be like a designer did it for you.. Good luck !!

We have oak flooring (cinnamon colored) and the wall color is Gingerbread Man from Benjaminmoore.com .. it's beautiful. And the room next to it is Red River Clay. All the colors compliment each other beautifully.

I suggest that you pick your fav color, go get paint samples of that color, and more and take your time. And have fun! :)

Hard to answer because you have to consider what else is going to be in the room.
