I have been coming to Answers for a short time now. Sometimes I find very good to the point questions. Lets call them questions with merit. A question a person would ask for direction to help them along their path. Other times I come here and I find nothing but trivial crap. My question is why do people concern themselves with such dribble and not seek the higher things? Does their lives and souls mean so little to them? Do they not know that there are states of being above human?

Larry T,
It's because they have been swayed in the direction that life is sort of trivial. They don't understand how important it is to value the things of God, and to desire spiritual things.

I myself spend time looking over the questions and answers, hoping for that one person who is on the edge, peering over a cliff that 'life' has placed them on. Those that want to know, " Is this all there is?"

What I try to do is drop seed where the Lord directs me. I haven't found much tonight. But I will be patient, believing God has placed me here to do His will. Since the walk of faith is a challenge of endurance, I will return again and wait to see what transpires.

Good point, but what is a trival?
Maybe some people feel God who loves us all unconditionally gave us a great gift in laughter and Happiness.
Don't waste your day worrying about what might make other people feel warm inside worry about what makes u feel good.
Cuddling a kitten, feeding a Tramp/Bum, saying a prayer whatever is good for you.
Some people surf this site just to get easy points but you can easily spot the ones needing genuine guidance.
I find some of the stranger questions the most thought provoking myself. They show real use of Gods gift of imagination and Intelligence, without which we would still be burning Witches.

The answer is simple: People are natural born rabble rousers. Consider it from this angle:

The Primary Law of Nature is Self-Preservation. From this law we derive the basic human needs: Food, Shelter, Procreation. That first law also governs our need to protect ourselves from attack.

Christians AND Atheists in this forum often feel they are under attack for their beliefs (or lack thereof), and it is understandable that they feel that way... as more often than not, that is the case. And it's been said time and again that the best defense is a good offense. So rather than waiting to be attacked, people launch out at each other in hopes of drawing first blood.

Since I'm not an atheist (obviously) I can't speak intelligently as to why they continue.

As a Christian, I can tell you that after a while of having my heart attacked, it is a natural reaction to want to attack back...BUT at the same time, I have to remember that I am no longer subject to my HUMAN nature... As a Christian, I can withstand attacks with a smile on my face and even learn to avoid questions that are just put out there to draw arguments. Instead I purposely seek out questions from people who have a genuine desire to learn and understand (whether they want to believe or not).

You see, I remember (as do most other Christians that frequent this forum) that my job is to share the gospel... not shove it down people's throats.

But it would be wise for those who are on the prowl looking just to start some mess to remember: Don't mistake Meek for Weak. Attacking the Church has been the undoing of more than one soul in history... and many of those have ended up being some of the most prominent believers... If you want to "not believe", you are more than welcome... but take care not to attack those who do... or those who are curious.

Probably to earn 2 points. It is not worth making such a big deal over it. For some people this is a form of entertainment.

Dude, you're taking this a bit too seriously. There's enough room for people who ask intelligent, legitimate questions and for people to ask silly, trivial ones. Skip the ones you have no interest in. Our lives and souls do not depend on what we ask on Yahoo Answers.

This is not necessarily a forum for the greater good. Sometimes people just want to have a little fun and a few good laughs. I don't see the harm as long as they're not talking filthy or maligning others.

Trivia is fun and it's Y!A's fault because of the point system. Some people only want the points. Also, life isn't always serious. Sometimes you have to lighten up.

Yeah they do, but you are judging them for a single act. There are also states of being called boredom. I think that is what some of them are doing, bored and asking questions because they can.

It's the Atheists who like to hang out here in the religious section and persecute the Christians and trivialize the important things... those who like to make fun and never be serious about anything... Their loss really... just ignore them... maybe they will go away

Too many low IQ are on Yahoo Q& A just to;

Kill Time,
Antagonize,
Try and Impress.

Their minds are full of nothing but Trivia.

(Could God make a pizza that was so hot that...)
(Could God make a rock so heavy he couldnt... )

Over and over --------------------TRASH!
