Marvin Hagler vs. Thomas Hearns, April 1985. I watch this fight now and i still get chills! Was that 1st round the greatest round ever fought in boxing history? Can anyone name another round that is even close?

No. The first round of that fight is the greatest in boxing history.

daProphet1 - You are not looking at the big picture. Gatti and Ward are two second tier fighters who had a trilogy of thrilling wars, and should always be viewed in that context.
Hagler and Hearns were at that time probably the number one and two fighters in the world - both fighting at arguably the height of their powers.

That first round is amazing, but the most single breathtaking round I've ever seen in a boxing match has to be round #9 of the first Gatti/Ward fight. I've watched it more often than a Kennedy conspiracist watches the Zapruder film, but I still get chills every time I see it. No disrespect to Hagler/Hearns for their first round slugfest, and I certainly rank it high.
