In my opinion, I think if you like to make it sound the same when pronounced in either English or French (but the accent can't be the same i must assume due to racial differences, culture & environment), the name must be something derived from universally spoken words like for example those coming from the subject of science, math, or mythology.
I also do the same thing as you, imagining words that will be beautiful as a name.
well, here are a few i find interesting to use (well for me, just thought it might help)
Cobalt, Benzene, Radium, Radius, Praetorian, Phoenix, Nux vomica, Morpheus, Neo, Janus, (choose from names of planets or moons - Neptune, Io...), Drako, Orion, Sigma Upsilon, (the Greek Alphabet?..), Ferro, Pyro, Wolverine, (search for scientific names of plants and animals..), Zircon, Zirconium, Crayton, Granite, ... (or you can combine them, well i hope this helps you for finally choosing the right name for your son, my advance congratulations!!!)
Well, you might think I'm not serious about this or just playing around, i'm not,.. I'm just more of a man of science that's why. And I really think science words are so cool to pronounce!!! Have a good day!

I like the name Geoff it is pronounced Jeff just spelled differently from the original spellings. I don't know if it would sound similar in french but you could try it.

My sister studied abroad in France for one semester and her host mother's son was named Julian. I think this name is nice in English...and very nice in French. Jack (Jacques) is great, too.

Search in the net for names and have good meanings. I just did the same.
My son was name after his father but we made it in French form.
Julius (his father) -Jules (french form)
Andre (french form) meaning strong- we almost lost him but he struggles to live!

I have three names. Catriona, Isobel, Rose. If the baby is a girl, I should be honored if you chose one of those.
Much love to you all, Rose P.
Yes, for convenience I only use Rose in normal situations.
