In the ultimate sense, it doesn't exist. But our limited mental capacity and perception makes it a very effectve illusion. Sit back and enjoy it. By the way, the first answer here reminds me of a debate I had on this same subject. "My reasons don't cause me to do things. I could have every reason to go to class tomorrow, and not go." Well, yes. But then...you had a reason to NOT go, didn't you? When it comes right down to it, neither you or I, nor anyone else here, has any more free will than the computer we are using to answer this. Our program is simply much more complicated.

Our "free will" is limited. Having free will doesn't mean that you can do anything that you desire. It's limited by your circumstances for one thing. But right now you have the freedom to choose to click on another screen. Just because there are things that will influence that choice doesn't mean that you don't have the freedom to make it. It just means that there are outside influences that will affect the choice you choose to make.

What does outside of influence mean? We are free to make our own choices. Even when it comes to sinning or breaking the law. You just have to pay the consequences for every choice you make.

Your premise makes the assumption that we cannot be uninfluenced in any decision.... which I don't consider accurate.
But even if we grant that, an influence is a push, like an ocean current. You can still swim against the current, and still make choices against the influences.

Free will exists within each and every individual, it's a matter of knowing yourself to realize what it is...
it is just like the question of what is good and what is evil
what is pain, what is pleasure
without the bad, nobody would never know what good is
if you're struggling with this concept, then maybe you should take a sabbatical and find yourself!

freewill exist everytime, everyday, everywhere...
it's a matter of choice..
you choose to be influenced, not forced to be influenced... right then and there you exercise your freewill....
freewill is choosing to do what you want to do... may it be good or bad that's your will...

You can make choices, regardless of influence. It happens every day. You can choose to ignore a bad influence.

Free will is an illusion. From the moment we are born our DNA and our experiences tell us how to act. People think they have free will when they really do not. Every action is a respons to a stimulus.
