I see this fight much like a fight between Ali and current world champion claimant Nikolai Valuev. Drago might have better hair (and, for that matter less body hair) than Valuev but his physical stature is similar. Creed was a much better all around boxer. Had he been in his prime, trained seriously and taken the fight seriously (not wasting his energy dancing around to a James Brown song before the fight) I think he would have outboxed Drago. Of course that would have messed up the entire "Rocky" movie plotline, since Balboa wouldn't have had the big revenge motivation for his fight in the USSR. Nor, for that matter, would he have met that big amazon Bridgette Neilsen...

Let's face facts - In the movie, Drago was an amateur, a three round fighter - it was a stretch for me that he could go fifteen with Balboa.
Creed in his prime would have boxed his ears off.
A better matchup is Creed in his prime vs. Clubber Lang.

Apollo would have beaten him with a baseball bat and even armed with a Louisville Slugger, it would've been a close fight - mano a mano, Drago destroys him

Apollo would have beaten him but Ivan still would have hurt Apollo really bad but not kill him
