What great faith.

I would say yes for 2 reasons: 1.) It's the truth 2.) I know where I'm going when I die.

well i do know the larger story of columbine. and i know that the peolpe that were targeted were not at random. they were the jocks and preps that constantly made fun of and tormented these kids.

police reports exist from complaints filed by their parents about other stuidents at that school throwing rocks and glass bottles at these kids. stealing their money and basically pushing them around for their entire lives...

add Zoloft and ritalin to the picture (drugs known to cause violent side effects) and a constant sense of helplessness. and you have a disaster waiting to happen.....

however because i have always treated other people with respect
i do not think that i would have had any problems in that paticular situation because i would not have been the one bullying them.

however in any other situation where i do not know the motivation, a person holding a gun to my head and asking if i believe in jesus i probally going to get me on a theological rant.

they will either kill me or pause to listen to me and at somepoint they will blink or look away for a second, their arms will be tired and they will lower the gun... something... at that point i suppose that i would try my best to take the gun from them and then shoot them with it....

and afterwards, i would reply,,,,,find out for yourself.

Not sure they thought their answer determined their fate. I am not sure that they thought it was a choice, and maybe it wasn't. You're assuming they thought saying "no" would save their lives...If so, they would have said no. I think they were just scared and answered the question. PLUS, God wouldn't want them to die insted of lie. Unless you think God is really that vain that he'd rather have children die than say (falsely) they don't believe in Him. That would be pathetic.

I will be honest, I don't know what I would do. I pray to God He would give me the courage to stand for Him. But I am so very proud of those young people who stood for Jesus. As He said, "if you confess my name before men, I will confess your name before my Father and His angels". Those dear children are with the Lord, right now. How heartbreaking, Columbine, and all the loss of life (and souls).

Yeah, I remember. I was in 7th or 8th grade and no one could carry backpacks anymore. We all had metal detectors set up in school, it was crazy.

Anyway, her name was Cassie or somrthing and there's a big controversy over that. Many people there said it wasn;t even her that said it. Most people think it's bullsh!t, as do I. I read the book a long time ago...

Read up on it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassie_Bernall

I would absolutely say "yes." Honestly, the guy would have killed those kids no matter what they said. But even so, I would never put myself in the position of dying right after I betray God. How would you explain yourself to Him? He has done so much for me. I would absolutely say "yes."

What others have said, this is a) an urban myth or b) a Christian fabrication (i.e., lie) to make the shooters out to atheists. You decide:

Most of us are too scared to tell the truth in far less risky circumstances...

My only concern is that if someone said no, they would have been shot as well

BUt that is a final act of defiance. I probably would have charged him
