To travel from state to state, you won't need anything, but i'd suggest holding on to your greencard. As far as getting into the country, you should probably have both, just as a precaution with all the extra security and all now.

As a Legal Permanent Resident (green card holder), the only document you need for the United States is your green card. You don't need a passport to enter the United States and you do not need to maintain a valid passport while you are here.

Incidentally, one of the conditions of your green card is that you are supposed to have it on your person at all times while you are inside the United States.

You may need more than your green card and passport, you might have to apply for a special visa. Passports and green card has a expiration time, some could be good for 1 year others longer. You must also have to show records from your country and witness stating about your background and character. There could be more documents you might have to show including information on parents and close family menbers, school, medical, passwork records marriage brith, if the usa feels something is in error they have the right to return you to your country.

I would imagin both, because if you have a greencard you're probably going to stay in the US right? Well either way you should bring both just in case.

Only if you are of East Indian decent, wear a turban and you are a muslim.
Otherwise, you will never be checked unless you are at the airport or trying to buy guns.
