The Aeron and the Mirra go for about $500 on ebay with very strong demand , and priced even higher at a real store.. are they really that good and I'm missing out, or just hype?

I work for a design firm and they forked out the money for these chairs for all 200 of our employees. I find them very uncomfortable. You have to get use to the mesh fabric, it can affect your skin. About 3/4 of our office actually like them. Many of the people in including many of our partners actually traded their chairs for regular ones.
I had to go back to the normal cheap office chair because I started to have problems with my back, even after I went through several adjustments to become more ergo. I spent one afternoon in the cheap chair and my back problems were gone.
I personally find them very uncomfortable and not worth it.

We've got the Aerons at work, and they are very comfortable. Very fine mesh fabric. It's almost like sitting in a hammock without the unsteadiness. I'd highly recommend them.
