It sounds like an allergic reaction to the sting. Some people are highly allergic and go into anaphylactic shock. Since you are still conscious I guess you're not that allergic to it, but you could use a physicians opinion as to what should be done to help the swelling go down.

Yes,that's true. There's also a lot of poisons in that fluid. Take a lot of vitamin C, preferably the Alacer brand called EMERGEN-C which comes in a power form (I like lemon-lime flavor best myself) and put two packets (2000 mgs) into a half a glass of chlorine fee water, wait until the fizzing stops and drink. Do this every hour for several hours and then every two hours after that until the swelling subsides. Keep your hand cool. If it gets too hot, run cold water over it or wrap ice cubes in a wash rag on put on your hand.

Yes the body creates fluid to move the toxin away. Take an antihisthamine if you aren't allergic to them and see the doctor, he may want to give you a cortisone shot. You must be allergic to them. It would be worth finding out if you would also be allergic to bees, this is an allergy that can kill.

You may be having an allergic reaction, and you need to get to the ER ASAP! If it gets into your blood stream, it could cause you to have a more severe reation next time, and could become deadly. Vinegar will only stop the burning or stinging.

Were you seen by a doctor? You sound like you are alergic to the sting. Did they suggest an antihistimine or anything to bring down the swelling?

You need to have prednisone added to the benedryl regiment.
This can be added by your physician or ER doc.
Go in and get it looked at to rule out Compartment syndrome.
