--*Or* do they check the serial numbers of said box, therefore I cannot purchase just "any" box of the same make/model?--- I don't want to replace with cablevision as they charge $250 versus like 30 bucks on ebay--heellllpppp

You have to return the same box. Each cable company has different boxes where they scan the bar codes to make sure it's theirs and it works. E- bay will not work, trust me. They will know that its not their box and will still charge you.

They keep track of which customer has which box by recording the serial numbers as part of your account information. Sorry!

sorry but they have a serial # and it will match the romote the romote won't work on the box from e- bay have them put a look out for the serial # if some one tries to turn it in for another box if they try to return it have them arrested for theft grand theft.

Yes they will check the serial on the box. Not much you can do other than look desperately for it. :o(

no longer a hundred%...i've got faith people do have a precise to resell kit that they have got paid for. This seems comparable to reselling a cellular telephone. yet you could definately locate some loopy stuff on ebay
