burritos is mexican food. its kind of like an indian "frankie" but with a different filling. burritos generally have refried beans, greens, melted cheese, rice, salsa, meat, cream, guacamole, etc inside them. they are delicious but not as popular as the nachos in india yet :)

A burrito is a Mexican dish usually consisting of a meat such as beef, chicken, or pork as well as other ingredients such as rice, beans, and salsa. The ingredients are then wrapped in a large flour tortilla that has been lightly grilled (or sometimes steamed) to soften the tortilla and make it more pliable.

The word burrito literally means "little donkey" in Spanish. The name burrito possibly derives from the appearance of a rolled up wheat tortilla, which vaguely resembles the ear of its namesake animal, or from bedrolls and packs that burros carried.

Here is a nice recipe for a Bean Burrito :

INGREDIENTS:
1 (10 inch) flour tortilla
1/4 cup vegetarian refried beans
1 slice American cheese
1 pinch ground black pepper
1 teaspoon low-fat sour cream
1 dash hot pepper sauce

DIRECTIONS:
- In a small pot heat the refried beans until they are heated through, approximately 5 minutes.
- Warm the tortilla in a dry frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Lay the burrito on a flat surface. Place the refried bean in the center of the burrito, layer the cheese, pepper, sour cream and hot sauce over the beans. Roll the tortilla so that the mixture is wrapped in the center.
- Serve warm.

Actually a Mexican food. Probably originated there too.
The basic ingredients consist of corn or flour tortillas, and your choice of meat (usually beef or chicken) or refried beans. Lay out your tortillas and spread your beef or chicken (cooked, of course!) down the middle. Cheese makes a great addition inside the burrito and on top. Then you fold it up, which there is a trick to, and I must admit I am NOT an expert folder. Top it with cheese and either salsa or hot sauce. Walla! Burrito.

The Art Of Mexican Food - Burritos
Burritos are made with flour tortillas and originate from Northern Mexico. In Souhtern Mexico, tacos made with corn tortillas are more popular. In fact, the primary difference between burritos and tacos is simply the type of tortilla that encases the filling: wheat or corn.

Step #1:
Warm tortillas. Place filling of choice in bottom third of the tortilla.

Step #2:
Fold flap over filling, bring edges in.

Step #3:
Fold over until no flap remains.

Step #4:
Warm and serve.

You don't sound like a Yank, so I don't know if you'll be able to find the ingredients where you are.
It's mexica, If you can get a tortilla just put some pan cooked chicken/beef/pork, put in some rice and beans (Black beans, re-fried, or pretty much any high starch bean) and some salsa (Peppers, onions, basil, and tomatos mixed thick or could be pureed, or somewhere in between), and then wrap the tortilla like a crepe. This is the most simple recipe you could get, and it's a pretty much what you'd find in Mexico.
If you can't find tortillas, you could make them, just find a recipe online, it'll be awkward your first time, but you'll get better if you do.

Burritos are tortillas stuffed with different types of fillings and wrapped into a roll. This is my creation of a burrito. You can use either sweet or hot style Italian sausage.

KRISPY's BURRITO:
1 1/2 lbs. Italian sausage, cooked
1 onion, chopped, cooked
1 small can chopped green chilies (optional)
1 package frozen create-a-meal vegetable mix (broccoli, snap peas, water chestnuts, red pepper strips)
1 package chili seasoning mix
3/4 cup water
1 (8 oz.) package shredded cheese (Mexican)
8-10 large flour tortillas
sour cream
In large skillet, cook sausage and onion thoroughly; drain off grease. Set aside in bowl.
In same skilled saute chilies and frozen vegetables until tender; re-add sausage mixture, chili seasoning and water. Mix until blended and heat until bubbly. Place a small amount of cheese on the lower center portion of the tortilla (see directions on package how to wrap) followed by 1/2 cup sausage mixture. Fold bottom up, side inwards, rolling up to top. Place the seam downwards on cookie sheet. Same procedure with remaining tortillas. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with sour cream.

Typically burritos are just about anything that are wrapped in a tortilla. Traditionally, those ingredients were ground meat and re-fried beans, possibly grated cheese or vegetables. But now it can be anything you'd like ranging from beansprouts to breakfast food.

Take a flour tortilla, wrap it in a dry cloth towel (keeping the tortilla flat and unfolded), microwave for about 15 seconds. Remove from oven and towel and put onto a dinner plate.

Take browned ground beef, or shredded beef, or refried beans, or shrimp or ..., and place onto tortilla.

Add shredded cheddar cheese or ...
Add diced tomatoes and onions ...

Add a little medium spicy or mild salsa.

Roll the contents into the tortilla, fold one end up before finishing the rolling, finish the roll.

Eat with favorite beer. Enjoy.
