Hi!

I'm thinking about school holidays in January and thought about Tasmania.

My ideal holiday is camping and hiking and 4 wheel driving. Does anyone have any destinations that they could suggest please?

G'day Libby - you've got a crap lot of answers so far!

Not too sure how the 4WD sitch is in Tassie but plenty of camping and hiking to be done. Take your caravan over on the ferry and then it's about a 2 hour drive to Cradle Mountain where there are some absolutely magnificent hiking tracks. In fact, all over Tas are beautiful walks of all grades.

I've only been twice myself, but my parents have just move from Qld to Hobart and my Dad is an avid walker. He has joined a trekking club, so I'll see if I can find out some good spots and let ya know coz I'll be speaking to him tonite.

I love Tassie - it's so beautiful......great Pinot too!

Libby, I'm sorry I can't answer your question. I just wanted to comment on how cute your picture was, I didn't even know that this site existed. The only thing I know about your section of the world is ( and I may be wrong ), isn't Adelaide the capital of Australia? The only reason I know this is my mother was named Adelaide. You are going to TASMANIA for a holiday. How exciting. I live in the state of Maryland in the U.S.A. In January, we're buried under snow. Have fun sounds like a great adventure.

To start with aussie fallen angel it was actually martin not matthew so maybe do a little reading before your next humourous attempt. Back to the question the west coast of Tassie is fantastic for camping, 4x4 driving the whole rugged outdoors adventure thing and in January it will be great weather and there is plenty of beautiful sites to see. ENJOY
