The non sterile needle may have had staph germs. There is an outside the drug may have not been pure. But shooting up will carry these risks for those who have weak minds and poor judgments.

Staph usually doesn't just start as staph, normally there is some kind of an infections that gets out of hand or not taken care of, that doesn't mean that the infection is huge just that that part of the body is having a hard time controling it and it can come from needles. Needles are dirty and can cause small infections under the skin that can lead to worst.

There is a certain type of staph that is going around. I have 4 friends that have had this infection. It is going around the Meth community but it is not necessarily the needle users. They are all getting it . I think its in the dope itself and when it comes out through the pores it is making boils like sores or pimples. It kinda looks like a spider bite

The question I have is "Are you saying he does shoot up?" or are you asking if this infection MEANS he shoots up.
IF you know he shoots up then yes the staph infection is very likely due to using a dirty needle, and or failure to clean skin in advance of shooting up.
If he doesn't shoot up there had to be a break in the integrity of the skin from something else, scratch, open wound, etc. to let the bacteria in.

Yes,he could of. We carry staph on us but it is not always active.
There are other ways you can get it like unsterile insturments, so if the needleis not sterile. Let's face it if he is shooting up he is not thinking of sterile technique.
Shooting up can kill you. If he is your friend try to get him help. They have a new show on tv called Intervention. Look it up on computer and go from there.
Good luck and God Bless
