The people who put that Bible there understand that life is not easy all the time. They acknowledge God as the source of love and his word as a pathway to that love.
While time flows along at a steady pace, we're dragged along - jumping, lurching, curving and rolling along. Mostly against our will.
When we encounter problems, the Bible is a source for wisdom, peace, encouragement and rebuke if necessary. It makes the bumps, bounces and bruises of life a little more bearable.
Reading it also helps one get to sleep when in a strange place.

If you want to read the bible, then read it. If you don't, disregard it. In any case, don't vandalize it or slander people who believe it. You don't have to agree with Christianity and you can make your case that it's not true. But show some respect for those you disagree with.
