Someone had a reason for naming you Ashley. Maybe you should find out why B-4 you actually consider changing it. I used to go to school with a boy named Ashley, & none of us ever gave it a 2nd thought. He was a very sincere, kind, liked person. If this really bothers you, then change the spelling of your name to Ashlee, or Ashlie. One thing is for sure, if you are really considering changing your name it needs to be because you want to, not because of the people in society.

I am a man named Ashley and I always get compliments from everyone I meet about the name Ashley being beautiful.
It works for me!
In Australia, Ashley is more of a male name, so I've never had the problem you describe.

It is not a super masculine name, but the suggestions about ‘Ash’ are good ones.
It is so much better to worry about being a good person, provider, citizen, man, than what they call you. If you grow into a decent and moral man, you could be called Susie, and be the hottest man on the planet.
To respectfully answer your question, though “Ash” is nice and more masculine, although they will continue to torment you by putting the full name on documents, unless you go through all the legal channels to change it for good.

Do you like the name? Who cares what others think! I would only change your name if it is something that you don't like and would like to change. I know a guy named Ashley and I've never thought it was weird. I like the name!

Ashley's fine. Keep it. Actually there's another post about "Why do girls prefer guys with feminine names?" just below yours. Check out the Q&A:
I actually know two guys who have more girlyish/unisexish sounding names. One guy is called Shannon and the other is an Ashley (no offensemeant to any guys with those names), but these two guys are really popular with the girls. Is there some reason to this?
NO, I JUST THINK THAT IT ADDS TO THEIR SEX APPEAL. I'VE EVEN HEARD OF GUYS NAMES STACEY AND TRACY, AND THEY HAD THE GIRLS SWARMING AROUND THEM LIKE BEES ON HONEY.

Ashley is the name of one of the main characters in Gone With the Wind and he is very manly. These days there are so many crazy names out there, yours hardly seems that unusual. I say keep it!
