Well, I don't know about MOST white Americans. But they were the people who gained independence from England. Blacks were slaves. Others came as immigrants and were met with a mild form of xenophobia. Then the USA helped Europe during the two World Wars and after the second with Marshall help, which also gives a boost of confidence. The USA became the only world power. I admire the positiveness which is instilled in Americans from youth. But I think the USA have bungled things these last few decennia.

I see you sent a self-description along with your "question." (I'm referring to the Wikipedia link).
1) Americans don't have a superiority complex, since a necessary part of having this complex is feeling inferior to others. (See the first paragraph of your reference).
2) I suppose we do suffer from a mild form of insanity. We preach and practice tolerance towards, and even defend people like you who incessantly vilify us without cause. There are still places in this world where you would be summarily shot, or chained at forced labor with your tongue cut out for the offensive behavior you have shown on this site!

We have such a terrible, out-dated public school system! Kids just fumble though it, and suck in all the crap that's on TV and radio nowadays. It's not their fault, though. That's the way the government wants it. We have no collective power to change it. They don't even count the votes most of the time, anymore.

I think it's a fair question. I'm a white american. There have been many other whites that wont even bother looking down there nose to speak to me. However, i don't think it is limited to whites... anyone with larger bank accounts tend to be at least a little snobby.
