I think the education system in conjunction with government propaganda promotes a sense of self entitlement and self righteousness through systematic indoctrination.

The product of which is a large population of people who think the US is the greatest country in the world, while at the same time ignorant of all other countries customs and beliefs.

With the importance of church and family in the US, faith plays a central role in guiding this populations beliefs, but they still possess the same ignorance as mentioned above.

The ignorant self righteousness with a strong belief in god allows them to feel justified in any and all actions.

It isn't their religion necessarily that leads to conflict, it is their ignorance.

Read the posts above mine. They show the ignorance clearly.

I paraphrase:

"Our country is the most blessed in the world"
- What utter nonsense. Try travelling.
"We have no poverty"
- go visit New Orleans. Go for a walk downtown late a night.

"We are killing because they killed some of us 5 years ago"
- no. The war in Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11. Read the 9/11 comission report.

There is no justification for the killing of others because you simply think you have the right or your country is better.

If I wasnt athiest I would pray for your education system to get better.

God created mankind with free will and sometimes they use it in really stupid ways. Honestly if these Americans that talk about God so much yet kill other people with little remorse really believe what God teaches they would not be involved in wars. If the entire world followed Gods laws as given to us in his word the Bible there would be no wars. Jeremiah 10:23 says that it does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.
When people stopped following Gods directions and decided to do things there own way there were only problems.

America talks about God? America is made up of Americans. Its Americans (some of them) who talk about God and the government that makes the decision about going to war. Individual Americans can vote periodically for elected officials, but during their terms of office those officials do not come to the American people for a vote on each decision.

America is made up of many many Americans who vote elected officials into office.

We are in a war right now in response to terrorists KILLING thousands of innocent civilians in our homeland. I don't know how you get we are the first to kill, we are in war as response to a TERRORIST ATTACK 5 YEARS AGO!!!!! You need to do more research.

I am going to start answering questions like this with the same response....so posters be warned......

I am getting sick and tired of people posting negative crap on here about our Nation!!!!! We are the most blessed Nation in the world. We don't have famine, we do not have poverty near to the extent that other countries do, we have freedom of speech, religion, etc.

The Bible clearly says in Ecclesiastes that there is a time for war and a time for peace. Our great nation in past wars have gone over to help other countries from being taken over by someone else. We have been the big brother to every country. Right now, we are at war with another country to defend OURSELVES.. Our freedoms, our families, our lives. Unfortunately there are innocent lives lost from BOTH sides. Our soilders face death every single day, and they do it willingly. Unfortunately this is part of the price for YOUR freedom to post stupid questions like this.

If you don't like what America stands for the GET THE HELL OUT!!!!! Go to another country where they dictate to you everything little thing you do. What to say, who to marry, who to worship, and what job to have. Oh, and let's not forget, those other countries would FORCE you to go to war. You would not be a human being to them, just a number.

TO MARISSA: I did not say that there was not poverty in our country. I said that we do not have the poverty to the extent that other countries do. Since when have YOU lived in a 2 room house with 3 families??? Since when did YOU go a day or 2 without food??? Don't talk to me about hurricane Katrina. Do I feel badly that people lost everything they have down there. ABSOLUTELY!!! But, to a certain point there are some of the people down there that I don't feel bad about. The one's who had the opportunity to get outta dodge and decided to stay. I feel bad they lost everything, but that is it.

What have I done for them??? I missed being with my husband for almost 3 months following while he was delivering supplies and equipment to Louisiana. He is a truck driver. So don't talk to me about what have I done???
