People here seem to forget that eating six small meals a day is GOOD for the metabolism. However, I doubt that when you were eating snacks, you were compensating by eating LESS during your meals. So since now you are probably eating less calories, you might lose weight. However, if you are eating the same amount of calories as before, but just not as often, that could cause your metabolism to slow down.

It is even possible that you could be eating more calories now that you are eating less - since you have so much time between meals, you may become extremely hungry and fill yourself up with whatever is easiest and in sight, which may mean empty calories, hence you will need to eat even more to feel full.

So to answer your question, it totally depends on your situation. You could lose weight or gain weight. Just try and eat healthy.

On the contrary, by not eating snacks this will help you loose weight. The snacks carry a lot of calories since they eaten to give you energy. By eating 3 sensible meals you will not gain weight. Just eat healthy meals, don't try to eat more since you did not have the snack. You are doing better by just having the 3 meals and no snack.

I would think it depends on the meals you eat. If you eat more as a result of not having a snack, then you'd either stay the same or gain. If you eat smaller meals with healthy snacks, you might lose weight.

Everyone's metabolism is different.
There is no magic formula.
I know that some say that snacking will help maintain a more constant blood sugar thus a steady metabolism, but personally I think it stresses the pancreas too much and decreases adaptability. It's hard to say if you'll gain weight, you probably won't if you are eating bigger meals.

Generally you gain weight if you consume more calories than you use. So if you aren't eating more calories you shouldn't gain weight. These sites can help you with figuring it out and with recording your food if you want to so that you can keep track of what you are eating and your exercise. Best of luck with your schoolwork.
