Sodium really isn't that bad for you, unless you have high blood pressure. You also should make sure you are drinking plenty of water if you have a lot of sodium in your diet.

Actually, we should all be drinking lots of water, anyway.

every thing is bad when it is more than normal so when u put normal salt on your food to won't be bad but when u add big amount of it or anything that contains sodium it may raise your blood pressure and hurts your kidney but if your diet contains too much salt so u have to drink good plenty of water it will improve your health at all and not only ur kidney.

It's not the salt. It's the sodium in the salt and other foods. It can raise your blood pressure, which can cause lots of different health problems. You should never add salt to your food. Most processed foods already contain way too much sodium. Your best food choices are natural whole foods, instead of fast food and junk food, which often has too much sodium, saturated fat, sugars, trans fats and cholesterol.

Your body needs a certain amount of salt (sodium) to function.

Unfortunately, most of our foods (especially prepared ones) use salt as a preservative. This causes our salt intakes to become excessive, which leads to high blood pressure.

Sea salt is better for you than table salt. Iodized salt will give you the iodine you need. Salt, like fat and sugar should be used in moderation. Salt affects your blood pressure and water balance.
