I know this might be hard for some of you to comprehend, but there are those of us who rely upon such establishments to help us meet our sexual needs. No smart a** answers, please.

Instead of using such establishments you could try abstinence and chastity for a change. That kind of filth promotes the idea that sex can be bought and that puts such a stain on the beauty of lovemaking. It's meant to be cherished not tarnished. Most people don't understand that and I don't understand why.

Because they view pornography as some sort of perversion. They need to wake up and smell the coffee. If their so called god didn't want us to have sexual desires that needed to be met he wouldn't have granted us sexuality. It's the 21st century and they need to pull their head out of their asses. For those who say the internet is better for porn, there's nothing stopping young people from accessing porn on the internet, I used to do it myself before coming of age. At least with adult bookstores and porn shops there is an age restriction to even walk in the door. There's plenty ways to falisify your age online and no one's the wiser. For those who say adult book stores promote prostitution, they really need to walk around my city...the prostitutes don't hang out around the adult book stores because that would be way too obvious. There's more prostitutes hanging around diners that are real dives rather than the bookstores. The ones who say it's wrong because of children...well I'd rather buy porn and store it in my room where my kids don't go rather than use my computer which is out in the livingroom. The narrowminded pinheads just need to get a life :D.

Lame protect the kids answers. They try to censor TV to protect them too. Try being a parent for once! I will tell my kids what they can and cant watch, not some damn bible thumper.

And what the hell is the reason they picketed the strip club when it opened up around here? Kids couldn't get in there, books and TV have half an excuse: I'm a bad parent and don't want to watch my kids.

It all comes from the fear that someone might be enjoying themselves somewhere.

No one's perfect! And a politician trying to shut down a sex shop? Bah! He's probably taking bribes, cheating on his wife, pleasing lobbyists...

There's a big uproar in my town now about swingers meeting in a local club for private parties. An idiot politician shut them down with an obscure zoning law. Someone ought to shake that busybody by the shoulders and shout 'Just leave 'em alone!!'

That's kind of sad, if you are serious. Especially with the internet so readily available and it doesn't hurt the neighborhood.

I think that people's concern are for children that might live in the same area -it's not a good combination.

Because there will always be some smart elic out there that thinks they know whats best for everybody else. Just because they don't enjoy those establishments, that means no one else should either. They think their morals are higher than everybody Else's and everyone should listen to them.

Because we live in a country of freedom and we have free speech. So when adult bookstores open up, people can picket all they want in front of the store and make customers uncomfortable and the business looses $$$ and they are forced to shut down. Or someone burns it down.
To bad...........you have the Internet and you can order crap if you want. We don't need it in our cities in quiet towns.......
I use to live in a small town where an adult business shut down due to picketers picketed 24 hours around the clock until it was forced to shut down.
Was it correct? Again back to freedom of speech..........
Just like the KKK does their f............marches...........Do I like it>?
No, but they have freedom of speech and a I have freedom to squirt them with a paint gun as they march past me............:)

As long as the laws are followed regarding proximity to schools and churches I don't think there's too much anyone can do.

You make your own path in life. One way leads to happiness and joy with God, and the other leads to the lake of fire.><>

Sexual perversion is sin--we are trying to save you and others. I don't want that stuff floating around for innocent people to see (example--my kids!).
