if not, why are we being lied about ghost by our older generation?

Ghosts and posession are two different things in my mind. I don't believe in ghosts, but posession could occur in certain occurrences of demonic activity.
Just my two cents. I don't have concrete proof either way.

I have seen a ghost. I woke up one night to get a glass of water and found a black hitch hiker from the south sitting at the end of my bed. The strange thing was I felt so calm. He simply said to me "I'm just passing through". He was old and looked tired. I went downstairs to get a glass of water and when I came back upstairs he was gone!
I wasn't dreaming as when I woke up the next day the glass of water was on my dresser.
I think anybody who hasn't experienced seeing a ghost or being possessed will tell the younger generation it doesn't exist. I must admit I didn't believe in ghosts until I saw one with my own eyes!

I have never seen any and I doubt if anyone else has really seen one. Being possesed is a mental aberration.
People through the ages have believed in ghosts, fairies, werewolfs etc. and they believed that they existed.
So in a way they didn't intend to lie about them. But that doesn't make it real/true.

Well, in answer to the ghost question. Yes, I was taking care of a very ill lady, sleeping in the guest room, next to her room Her husband had been deceased for several years.
In the night, a man appeared, kneeling next to me, and he was patting his chest over his heart. He was in my minds eye, as, I didn't need to open them to see him. He was just there a few seconds.
The next day, I looked around the house and found a picture of him. The message he was trying to give me, was to take care of his wife. (Heart-felt) Care. easy to do, as she was a sweetheart.
I couldn't say that the older generation, ( how old is old?) deny spirits, or ghosts. I believe we don't go to Heaven Above. We are just in an alternate dimension without flesh. My mom and dad communicate with me when a patient is having problems. They get my attention at a digital clock. My dad is 11:11, and my mom is 10:10. Seems like my dad is there more often, but my mom is always there when things get rough. I had asked them both to try to get back to me. My dad died first. Within hours finally falling asleep at my mothers, my bedside clock started glowing. And, I hadn't been eating mushrooms either.
Anyway, I have also worked and trained in an Alzheimers Faciliy.My mom passed on three years after my dad, and the day after my moms passing, one of my patients saw her standing behind my shoulder. She even described her.5' or so, small with red hair. Later, the same little lady went on a very Delusional trip. anyway. I think they're around to help out. Yeah, enjoy the hell out of this Planet, and welcome back, if you can do it.
Possessed? I think we have alternate spirits, and the evil one wins over occasionally.

I use Norton Ghost all the time on computers at work.
Ghost is very real. And useful.

Never seen a ghost. That's because they don't exist.
People don't get possessed, they just get crazy.

the only "ghost" I believe in is the "Holy Ghost," but I believe people can be posessed by evil spirits and stuff.

ghosts are real. possession is too. i knew a ghost and a person who was possessed.
scary man scccaaaaarrrrryyyyyyyyy...like nothing you would ever imagine...oh my what on earth whopdidoodalahsflasfhsadf...it aint funny.
and ghosts aint friends man dont get it wrong they r not friends.
