as i answered to Debra M,
for a loved one or a child of mine...i will risk my life to save theirs, possibly even loose my life in the process.
for an enemy.....sorry, i have a family to think about.
now this is assuming that this is an enemy(someone trying to kill me) if it is an enemy of my country, and they are helpless, then i would attempt to save them, but i am not giving my live for a man that was just shooting freakign bullets at my head.

I like to think that I would go to any lengths to rescue my loved ones from danger, but that is really easy to say right now, when they are safe. I won't really know the answer to that question, until it is upon me. I will either pass or fail the test! No curve...
I also DK about saving an enemy. It might depend on the circumstances. If they are just some jerk that gets off on harrassing me, but now he is drowning in front of me, I would hope to be big enough to throw him a rope and a life preserver. At that point he would just be a human being! If he is a real enemy, bent on destroying us, and runs afoul of the law in the process, then the Law can eat him!

I find it very easy to die for life of my wife or sons.
I doubt I have it in me to rescue an enemy.

Jesus did this for us...even when I was an enemy of Him..He still layed down His life for me. I know that I could never do the same...sure, it's easy to say, "yeah I would for my family", but Jesus did it for ALL...even knowing that there would be those that would spit on His sacrifice. What a wonderful friend is He.

I would be willing to help anyone in danger. I'm not going to "kill" myself in the process, but I would certainly be willing to try to save someone from harm.
