Because toothpaste has the ability to numb your tastebuds. The ones in the front and middle of the mouth are for sweet/pleasant tastes, while the tastebuds towards the back of the mouth are for bitter.
Usually, toothpaste doesn't go so far back, so the only tastebuds that are not numbed by the toothpaste are the bitter ones, so that's the flavour that you feel when you drink o.j.

It's not just OJ. A lot of food taste different after scrubbing your teeth and tongue with a minty, fresh taste.

I dont think anything taste to fantastic after brushing, its better to rinse with water before consuming anything...
I drank tea after brusing and almost barfed all over the floor, trust me...rinse

Because orange juice and peppermint don't go together, gross. Peppermint is also a base taste, orange juice is not, so one cloaks and changes the taste of the other.

try drinking oj first, then brush to get all the sugar off your teeth.
