yes, very gross, and also a good way to get way behind on your hygiene. If you don't do it, then the plaque buildup on your teeth will have a chance to harden and then even flossing will not remove. So you'd have to go to the dentist to have this removed which could possibly result in some cavities, because the hard plaque trapped bacteria that caused decay, and the trapped bacteria also iritaes the gums, causing recession of the gumline (which is not reversible), exposing some of the root which is not as thick enamel wise and can easily decay and will be more sensitive. So you'd have to get cavities filled which is a pretty penny, and/or have either a full mouth depbridement wich is a semi deep cleaning and requires 2 appts, and/or have a deep cleaning aka Scaling Root Planning (SRP) which is a pretty quarter, they can run up to $700+ and also require at least 2 appointments. Now, this not brushing thing also causes bad breath, so observe the way people react when you talk to them. Do they lean back a little, turn their head slightly, cover their nose, take deap breaths and hold their breath for a long period of time, or make a strained face, from trying to keep from gagging? I'm not trying to be mean when I say that so please don't take it the wrong way, i'm just letting you be aware. Now, teeth are pourous, if you didn't know, so the white strips is the worst thing you can do because, when teeth are being bleached, they become more pourouse, which is why they become more sensitive, if you have noticed that, and so will the gums because of the peroxide. So, the more pourous the teeth, the easiry to stain if you drink coffe, eath licorice, eat strawberries, and the easier to decay. You need to just start making more time in the mornings for brushing your teeth, using a new tooth brush at least 1 every 3 months, which is why the dentist gives your one every time you get a cleaning evey 6 months, so you only have to buy 2 a year, and they are not all that expensive if you consider $5 for 3 months. Do not use a whitening tooth paste or one with baking soda. they cause sensitivity and the baking soda actually wares away enamel because it is abrasive. Use sensitivity toothpaste. Also, YOU MUST MUST MUST floss as well to keep your gumlike tight, healty and prevent further sensitivity and possibly prevent loose teeth. Brushing and flossing are to be done in the morning after you eat breakfast, and at night before you go to bed. During the day it is good to keep mouthwash with you so that you can rinse after eating/drinking to keep decaying chewed up food and acidic beverages, like soda, coffee and juices from eathing away at the enamel and iritating the gumline. The reason Listerine "stings" is becuse that means people don't use it so often so your unhealty gums are irritated. The more you use, the less it'll hurt and you'll actually like how well it works. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

Extremely gross and bad for your teeth, if you have taken the time to put water on the tooth brush and brush them, then add some toothpaste as well. It is actually better to apply tooth paste to a dry tooth brush and brush that way, instead of wetting the tooth brush first. It may seem like no one knows, but have you thought that maybe you have bad breath and no one wants to embarrass you by telling you.
If you have no time in the morning, then wake up two minutes earlier and at least give them a two minute brushing, and take two minutes before bed.

um, i HOPE you're joking, but if you're not, then here goes...
I think you can get up an extra 5 minutes in the morning to brush your teeth. If not, you're just lazy. If you can get up and shower, do your hair, makeup, whatever, then you can brush your teeth. If you are REALLY that busy in your life, you need to resort your priorities.
Oh and i'm pretty certain people know you dont take care of your mouth. Bad breath. Enough said. I get patients with breath so bad bc of their bad habits i have to double or triple mask before seeing them. We call it perio breath. They have no idea how bad their breath is. Just imagine the people you are around every day who dont have that kind of protection?
You brush and floss the teeth you want to keep. So if you dont want to keep any of your teeth, then you're doing a fantastic job. Good for you!

I am afraid I have to agree that it is gross, not to mention a breeding ground for some serious bacterial growth. If you are not going to brush everyday at least use mouthwash, but BTW how is it you have time to do all the other things but no time to slap some toothpaste on that brush? it only take a few seconds longer than using water.

Prevention
Daily oral hygiene measures to prevent periodontal disease include:
brushing properly on a regular basis (2 times a day), with the patient attempting to direct the toothbrush bristles underneath the gum-line, so as to help disrupt the bacterial and plaque growth that may occur there.
flossing daily and using interdental brushes if there is sufficient space between teeth and behind the last tooth in each quarter.
using an antiseptic mouthwash. Chlorhexidine gluconate based mouthwash or Hydrogen Peroxide in combination with careful oral hygiene may cure gingivitis, although they cannot reverse any bone loss due to periodontitis. (Alcohol based mouthwashes may aggravate the condition).
regular dental check-ups and professional teeth cleaning as required. Dental check-ups serve to monitor the person's oral hygiene methods and levels of bone around teeth, identify any early signs of periodontitis, and monitor if it has responded to treatment.
In the above excerpt from wikipedia on the topic of periodontal disease, notice that it says brush twice...it does not say you MUST brush in the morning; however, germs and bacteria play around in your mouth while you sleep...be sure to brush and gargle before going to bed if morning brushing is not possible or desireable. Also try those "Brush Ups" that are a portable way to cleanse the teeth and mouth...they are fun to use, too...or chew Dentyne gum which is advertised to be the next best thing to brushing one's teeth (I used it a camp once as a child who forgot to pack a toothbrush)...oh, and try not to breathe on anyone directly until after a meal...stale air is terribly offensive to the innocent yet polite early morning chatterer...

You really must be irresponsible and immature. First all you said nobody knows. What are you going to think when you teeth start falling out and people start noticing gaps in your teeth and are going to be talking about you behind your back or in front of you. I bet your breath smells like booty sauteed. C'mon now get it together take care of that before you write to some makeover show trying to get your teeth fixed.

You need to find the time. you will pay dearly later.THE real answer is YES it's gross. It takes less than five minutes to brush your teeth. Next time you see someone who doesn't have teeth. Look at yourself a few years down the road.

First not only is it dirty not to clean your teeth you will end up with very bad teeth later in life if you don't already. If you don't have time to brush then you should be making time to do this. Dont wake up one day when its to late and say I wish I had brushed my teeth when I was younger.

That's just being lazy and you will pay for it if you continue to practice bad dental hygiene. When I was in the military crawling on my belly in the jungle I didn't have the time to worry about my teeth. I was only interested in staying alive and that, my Friend, is a completely different situation.
