hen the Prophet of Islaam migrated to Madinah, he was keen on establishing friendly relations between the Muslims and the non-Muslim tribes of Arabia. He established a sort of treaty aiming at ruling out all pre-Islamic rancour and inter-tribal feuds. The following were the clauses of the treaty:

1.The Jews of Bani 'Awf are one community with the believers. The Jews will profess their religion, and the Muslims theirs.
2.The Jews shall be responsible for their expenditure, and the Muslims for theirs.
3.If attacked by a third party, each shall come to the assistance of the other.
4.Each party shall hold counsel with the other. Mutual relation shall be founded on righteousness; sin is totally excluded.
5.Neither shall commit sins to the prejudice of the other.

PLEASE wake up and realise that most of those who would answer your questions are anti Islam and hate Muslims. You do not need to ask this question, you do not need some haters, racist to tell us who is greatest man ever created. You will never find any Muslim or a true believer who would insult Jesus or Moses. Most of those who answered are extreme rights Christians and Zionists. They are the wrong persons to ask. The answer to your questions is Prophet Mohamed was and is and will be the GREATEST HUMAN ever and those who do not agree..very simple before you insult anyone just go and read and know who you are talking about, a man who brought a message which is followed by a milliard and 200 millions most of them are believers unlike those who claim to be believers and may be 10% of the are practising!!

I do not agree that Mohammed is the greatest person in the world.

Reading you 5 points, I get the idea that you are familiar with Mohammed's early dealings with the Jews and other religions.

You must also research Mohammed's change of attitude towards the Jews after they began to reject his teachings. This can be seen in the Quran by seeing how attitudes towards the Jew changed. Compare the following verses:

Surah 2:47 & Surah 5:78
Surah 5:44, 5:66 & Surah 3:85

Researh the "nasikh" principle.

You may also want to do some research about:

The Battle of Badr, (624)
Destroying the Date Palms of the Nadir Tribe (625)
Massacre of the Qurayzah Tribe (627)
etc.

Do research on Sharia Law.

Research the guidlines for dealing with "People of the Book" (POB) as carried out during the rule of Umar ibn al-Khattab (Muhammed's close friend and the source of many "hadith:).

For example:

According to Islamic law, Jews or Christians had 3 choices:
(i) convert to Islam,
(ii) pay tax to the Muslim authority and remain in their faith, or
(iii) be killed

1) POB were not permitted to ride horse...they had to ride donkeys. Only Muslims could ride horses.

If POBs met a Muslim on the road, they must turn around and find another road to walk through.

POB could not build houses higher than those of Muslims.

Jew or Christian man could not marry a Muslim woman, But Muslim man could marry a Christian or Jewish woman.

2) POB were not allowed to bury their dead during the daylight...only in the night. They were not allowed to cry for their dead ones, such that a Muslim heard them.

3) POB mus practice their religion "quietly": not loud enough to be heard, not in sight of a Muslim, and not allow to convert anyone.

4) POB were prohibited from holding high positions in the Islamic government.

A Muslim could not be punished by the death penalty for killing a POB.

5) POBs had to were special clothing to be identified: Christians -blue, and Jews - yellow, Samaritan wore red. Christian and Jewish Woman had to wear shoes of different colours (left & right).

The above points came from the following REFERENCES:
1) "People of the Book During the Middle Ages" by Dr. Kasim Abdo (Cairo, 1977)
2) "The History of the Kings and Prophets" by Al-Tabori (Cairo)
3) "The Beginning and the End" by Ibn-Kathir (Cairo).

Try to balance your research. Good Luck.

You must be another misinformed or dumb Muslim to talk about Jews in the time of Muhammad.

There were Yahuudi and Nazaaraa but certainly no Jews and no Christians.

You are a Jesus-freak Muslim.

People are very against 2 this Noble person, They cannot understand his faithful beauty. But thank God ..........I did understood him & his true message of God. We Muslims cannot even think negative about any Prophets including (Moses, Jesus) but there ignorant astray followers cannot change their mind, they will only mock & abuse in order 2 stay away from obligations prescribed by God. They are so stubborn ............very sad. May God have mercy on their souls.Aameen Peace

Correct me if im wrong but isn't that making Muhammed more that he should be? Does not Islam not produce images of Muhammed to avoid idolitry? Is not the greatest of sins to give partners to Allah as much as it is to judge by other than the Quran? In your faith, isnt Allah the greatest? And by reffering to him isnt that immortalizing him? Do you obey the messenger or Allah? He died a long time ago. Why would he be the greatest compared to the other prophets?

I am not a Muslim so I speak to you as an observer not someone in authorithy.

Respectfully,
I think there are many great people in the world even though we tend to focus on the bad. Thank you for telling us about that.

I think that any person who promotes peace is a very good person. If we strive to do more good in the world than bad and leave the world better than it was before us I think that is wonderful.

When we have a person who dedicates a whole life to peace and love this is truly a blessing on mankind.

Respectfully I ask this question

Is a prophet a person? Are they of a higher level?

This is a very interesting topic.

It depends if you define the greatest from what point of view. If you dont believe in fundemental of religion, then doesnt make any difference. But if you try to argue a hardcore muslim that he is not, then good luck with it!

"let those who worship muhammed-pbuh know that muhammed-pbuh was a messenger and messengers have died before him, those who worship Allah remember, ALLAH IS ALL ETERNAL AND NEVER DIES."

that said, i would like to tell u that be Noah, Moses, Abraham, Jesus or Muhammed-pbut, they all were equal and they were ROLE MODELS. these prophets did not say they were the greatest and people should learn to be like them. they were HUMBLE AND DOWN TO EARTH.

remember, even prophet Muhammed-pbuh does not like arrogance and pride. he was the most simplest and most humble man, it was his simplicity that inspired many including people like freedom fighters.

there is NO GREATEST person in the world. NO MAN CAN BE GREATEST. if their is someone GREATEST OF ALL THEN IT IS ALLAH. no one deserves more praise and more worship than Allah alone. He is ALL- MIGHTY and ALL-WISE.
