I would prefer it to be closer to Disney or Hollywood, and the rooms should have a kitchenette. Thanks for your answers guys!

comfort inn is usually consistent...with their prices and rooms..and cleanliness...all over...

Most hotels are pretty shady in LA if the price dips below $100 a night - but there are probably exceptions I am not aware of. There is a nice Best Western called The Mikado in the Valley Village/Studio City area that my parents used to stay at. It's relatively inexpensive (for LA), clean, safe, and near the freeways. You can jump in the car and be over the hill in Hollywood in 15 minutes (it's very close to Laurel Canyon & the 101 & 405 freeways).

Well, LA is a big city. What part of LA?
Motel6 is around $50/night.
Try to spend more and stay at the Courtyard Marriott. It has free wi-fi.
