Hi, yes, I did, and he was 8 this summer.
There are many adoption agencies...I hope they are going with a reputable one. Check out Bethany...the experience for me, which was a pretty positve one, changed my life forever.
You may email me if you wish, I couldn't find yours.

Are you adopted? Your comment about not looking for a birth mother makes me wonder. When people put a baby up for adoption there is usually a good reason. It's not that they don't love the child or want the child. It's usually because they can't take care of it properly, and want it to have a good home. I am not adopted, but I know of some people who are. In one case, a girl didn't find out she was adopted until she was 15. She was so upset that she ran away from home. It's always a good idea to tell a child they're adopted before they hear it from some other source.

To answer your question specifically, there are probably lots of people who have put a child up for adoption. There should be no shame or guilt associated with it. By the same token, an adopted child should not feel that he or she was abandoned by the birth mother, and feel second best by the adoptive parents. Giving birth does not necessarily make a good mother. But people who adopt really want to share their life and love with a child, so an adopted child should always feel blessed. I would like to share a beautiful poem with you. I heard it on a TV show, and it really touched me. I don't know who the author is.

Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone
but miraculously, you are my own.
And never forget -- not even for a minute
You didn't grow under my heart,
but in it!

A lovely thought that should dispel any hesitation about adoptive mothers.

I don't think yahoo is the best forum for finding a child to adopt. Speak to a local foster/adoption agency.

No but about 3.5 years ago when I was in high school I got pregnant and gave my baby up for adoption. It's the best choice I have ever made. Good look!!
