Shallow meaning concerned more with the physical and having higher standards. Women are on the whole much more shallow than men. Consider the following:

-Some women spend hours getting ready for social events and put on pounds of make-up each year, no men do so
-The fashion industry is driven and largely managed by women
-Women care more about how they are dressed
-Women care more about how men are dressed than men care about how women are dressed
-Women complain about bad boys but still chase after them and won't give nice guys the time of day
-Groupies scream in the mere presence of people like Justin Timberlake, show me any guy that would do this for any famous female
-Men will by and large will go out with not so good looking women, but not so good looking men or unclean men cannot get a date at all
-Women are much more selective than men in general
-The largest demographic of singles in America are overweight men

Women complain about men being shallow, but it seems hypocritical.

To the one answer let me say men definitely don't notice most stuff about you. A lot of guys are totally clueless when it comes to fashion. Most men won't notice much about you other than your *** or your chest.

Not all women are shallow, the reason most of them are is because thats the way society pushes them to be. We have the media subjecting us to bullsh!t that if we have money and a good looking partner we'll be happy. Women fail to see the value in good morals and personality, to be honest I hate being in the same category. Women are looked at as bitchy, demanding and shallow just in the same way that guys are looked at as egotistical, assholes who only think about sex. Not all guys are like that but for some reason all the bitchy women screw it up for the half decent ones and all the idiotic guys screw it up for the nice guys. The reason women chase after the bad guys more often then not is because it's what they're used to, the moment a guy treats them nice they think something is wrong. I think what we have to accept is that yes a large percentage of women are shallow and a large percentage of guys are assholes, we shouldn't be stereotyping everyone into the same categories. There are actually women out there who couldn't care less about fame, money and looks.

Some women are shallow. Men are usually very visual in what we want too. Being shallow is usually a defense mechanism.. that works on various levels. Remember they are sold a bill of goods from the get go...that they need someone else to complete them. As to being clean and neat, there is no substitute for respect for a potential mate.

Blah Blah, yadda yadda, im to lazy to read the whole question. You should leave the word women out and put people in its place, there are just as many shallow men. we are all the same. People are shallow because they are insecure. A real person can look beyond imperfections and see people for who they really are. There are far too many shallow people, but there are just as many nice ones, so dont give up hope.

Women spend so much time on their appearance because they want to look their best and also they know that men put importance on the physical. They can say a personality is important and it is , but watch an ugly, obese woman walk by and very few men will be interested in her no matter how nice she is, no matter how giving she is, or no matter how compatible those guys might be with her.

Well, even though you don't seem to think so, SOME men are shallow too. In my opinion, people shouldn't be shallow. Pre-judging someone only on their looks is wrong. It's what's inside that matters the most.

As for the celebrity comment, well, they're CELEBRITIES and people have ALWAYS been fascinated by them whether they're shallow or not. So what!

Just because a woman wants to look good that does not make her shallow. Take a look around here with all the guys talking about how they would never do a "fat chick" and all that. I think there are shallow people of both genders.

I went for a man who was 120kgs, fell pregnant, all is well...I gained some weight so who was shallow enough to start wishing he was with other hotter woman? I now weigh 60 kgs and all of a sudden im attractive? go to hell!

It's the way we are wired. I am NOT saying that all women are shallow, rather that women love fashion and style more than men... It's in our jeans (lol)

i think that society teaches women to dress and act like they do or else be subject for criticism....it takes a strong woman who believes in herself to not fall prey to that kind of pressure..if you don't want a shallow person then try looking at people who aren't dressed up like society dictates.

They see fantastically women with handsome adult men and want an identical element. they do no longer decrease their standards basically with the aid of fact they're much less alluring, as they should no longer. an identical question may be asked in the direction of adult men.
