There's no way a person can have their hair permanently straightened because your hair follicles dictate what kind of hair you have curly or straight. You can make the hair that is there straight but that would evetually grow out and all newer hair would not be straight.

White people can get their hair straightened permanently but once the new hair grows from scalp you will have to touched up, it's the same as coloring the hair, you are always having to get the roots touched up. This process is called a chemical relaxer.

If I was to get one done I would go to a salon and have a blk. stylist do it because black stylist usually have more experience w/ relaxers.

There is absolutely no products on the market that will make your hair go from curly to straight and keep it that way w/ out maintanencing.

Go here: www.lamasbeauty.com/talk/salon/

or just go to lamasbeauty.com and click on salon

It's a forum/discussion board about hair care with a heavy emphasis on straightening. You can get your questions answered here by professionals.
And yes you can permanently straighten the hair you have now but your new hair that grows in will be whatever texture god and your parents gave you.
Good Luck

it can be permanently straightened until new hair grows out. i don't recommend it tho. i've worked in a salon for 5 years and a couple times i saw hairdressers who didn't know what they were doing straightening a person's hair. one lady actually lost chunks of her hair and threatened to sue. it changes the chemical composition of your hair, just like a perm does. get a GOOD hair straightener and "train" your hair to become a little straighter. invest in a good flat iron too!

No, new hair growth will always be curly, except for the part that is straightened.
