Because it's human nature.
The human race is the way it is, because humans are never content with what they have. If they were, then we would all still be sitting in caves eating berries. But man was always thinking there might be better food somewhere, or a better kind of shelter, or a better kind of clothing - and so on.
The trouble is, that we can't stop thinking that way - maybe it's hardwired into us. So even when we have everything we really need, we can't stop looking for more.
It's true that "things are never right". Nothing in life is perfect. The trick is to take a balanced view and accept that you can't have everything.

Some people cannot accept life as it is and keep seeking something more.
Some people thrive on being unhappy and complaining about it. Some people actually believe that life will be better when *put just about anything here* happens.
Some people are legitimately unhappy and depressed and without help will never feel any differently.
Some people actually do set a goal to be happy be and reach it.
It's human nature. Millions upon millions of people, and no two are alike.

Love that answer by SmartySlacks. If you ain't happy with what you have, how you gonna be happy if you get what you aint got? Somehow, someway, someday, you gotta be happy with what you have cause you will always have more that somebody else and less than somebody else. The best way off this merrygoround is volunteer community service. Helping others gets your focus on loving people and that makes everything feel MORE RIGHT!

I think it's the media fault why people think that way. We see other people's lives, how they live, how happy they are and we covet them. We have a difficult time appreciating what we have because no one taught us to be that way.

because some people can never be happy... they just keep trying to reach an unatainable rainbow, instead of just being content with what they've already got...

becaue people always want more than they have, it's just human nature, and saying that saves them having to examine what they may or may not be doing right or wrong
