The poster hanging in my OBGYN's office is that if your on the pill and taking antibiotics, you have to use an additional form of birth control (i.e. a condom), for the duration of your cycle. So, once she's done with the antibiotics, she'll have to wait until after her next period before she can ditch that condom. Good for her for being responsible and asking.

My boyfriend and I are going through this same thing. I had a baby in june. I am currently taking antibiotics for a secondary infection. You need to use a condom or another form of birth control until she starts her next cycle (ie after her next period)

To be very safe, I wouldn't stop using the condoms until after the period after she stops taking the antibiotics, if that makes sense. Unless she stops the antibiotics on the day of or during her period. In that case, I would wait for about two more weeks.

It's good to be on the birth control pill for at least a month. The antibiotics should have no effect she just had a sore mouth. Hope she is feeling better. Good to see people using protection.
