If this is your first digital camera you may want to do some research first on what features make a good camera.

Everything you ever wanted to know about digital photography and cameras:

Canon Powershot 530 http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-Digital-Camera-Optical/dp/B000EMU888 is a nice camera (about $199--when not on sale).

Canon Powershot 520 is cheaper, but harder to find because they are going out of production.

I have the 520 and it takes beautiful pictures. It has an auto mode for beginner users and then plenty of features you can use as you gain more knowledge on how to use it. You can even change the lens.

While there are some in your price range you want to find the highest mega pixels within your range. You also want to have removable media or you are stuck with a limit on the number of pictures you can take. I found a real no-name 6 mega pixel for just about that price some time ago on ebay. I also have links to camera deals etc here http://www.silvaspoon.net/cameras.html
The canon powershot is well within your price range from one of my sources on that page. Do shop around though, as there are many deals through the links on the left column of the page.

My mom has this camera and we may be getting one for Christmas. Very easy to use. Not big..but not too small. About the size of a disposable. I am not selling this...but found it for you on Ebay.

I am recommending this because I have used it and it is great! It even has a built in camcorder for recording short video's with sound!
