My husband eats a ton of tuna fish! Here is the way he does it!
Tuna Sandwitch: One can Tuna, small amount of garlic, salt and pepper, chopped onions, roasted red pepper spread on wheat bread
He also makes this same thing with deli mustard and regular mustard.
Keep in mind though, there are TONS of things you can do with Tuna besides a sandwich!
Hard boiled eggs with tuna fish in the center. Cut eggs in half, put tuna in center and Put the eggs back togeather and it's really portable. you can also use mayo and mustard for this like deviled eggs, or mustard and sour cream and have the same flavor.
Tuna fish on a Salad with a light dressing (veggies and no mayo, great combo.)
And finally tuna fish with just a little mayo wrapped in green leaf lettuse with a little bit of red pepper!
Hope this helps your quest to eat healthy!

I always make my tuna with just a little mayo (not drowned) mustard, salt, pepper, DILL relish, and hot sauce. The mustard, relish, and hot sauce give a good bite and lots of flavor, and the mayo just kinda holds it all together. Then I spread it onto a flour tortilla, add a slice of cheese, roll it up and toast it in a dry frying pan (no oil or spray). Just use low fat mayo, or even try sour cream instead, and use low fat cheeses as well.

Use albacore tuna packed in olive oil. Drain the tuna can so that the flesh is still damp but not drowned in oil.
Dump into mixing bowl. Add 1 teaspoon up to 1 Tablespoon curry powder (to your taste) and one quarter up chopped almonds or pecans. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Mix. Chill.
Serve on toast quarters, or crackers, or as a veggie dip. No mayo, just loads of good Omega 3's and yummy tunas.
Another good one: Use tuna packed in water, drain as above. Mix with herbs: thyme, tarragon, fresh parsley, and salt and pepper. Chill. Serve on fresh French style bread. Alternative: top tuna mixture on bread with a slice of cheddar cheese, run under broiler for a great tuna melt.

1 bunch of fresh dill
1 lemon / or concentrated lemon juice
1 cucumber or English cucumber
3 green onions
salt & pepper
light ranch dressing
Chop approx 2 inches off the top of the cleaned dill; store the remaining. Chop fine and add to 2 cans of drained tuna (water). Add a tablespoon of lemon and salt & pepper as you like.
Wash and cut cucumber lengthways twice. You should have 4 long 1/4 wedges when done. Run a spoon or blade of knife down seeded area to remove. For sandwhich chop small / for salad chop bulky add to tuna mix. Wash and chop green onions (both white and green parts) into fairly thin slices - add to mix. Use your discretion adding light ranch dressing. Here's a little hint for those not taking the time to read; add a 1/4 to 1/8 - very small amount of either horseradish or mustard to give it a nice kick.
Serve as sandwhich or as salad on bed of mixed greens.
Enjoy!

if u like indian food u can make tuna biryani...its one of my mum's famous recipe inventions. firstly you boil some rice so you can do the layers, add some cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, a few peppercorns and two whole cloves into the water as you boil the rice, drain and rinse well with cold water. tuna filling. chop one large onion, cook that in a little oil until its soft, add some garlic, ginger, salt, corriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder or cayenne pepper and a can of chopped tomatoes, let that cook and once its done turn it off, open two cans of tuna inside, mix lightly and adjust the salt if needed. Layering- easiest way to do the biryani is in the oven so best to use an oven proof glass casserole. put a cup of water in your bowl, put half the rice in an even layer in the bowl, spoon out your tuna filling evenly then add the rest of the rice and spread it out evenly careful not to mix everything up. Tempering for the top. thinly slice one onion, fry the onion in a little oil along with half a teaspoon whole cumin seeds until onions are golden. then sprinkle the onion mixture all over the top of the rice. Cover with tin foil and put it in a hot oven for half hour. You can eat it on its own or with some plain yoghurt, papadums and salad bon apetit

Personally, I can't imagine tuna without mayo, buy you've got me thinking. I have found that some of the best "meals" that I have made were made without the typical ingredients available. Mmmmm... let me think..... I'm thinking, toasted English muffins, olive oil with fresh garlic, chopped Romain lettuce, onions, balsamic vinegar, salt, fresh ground pepper, and I'd mix the tuna with a little Worcestershire sauce. (try substituting English muffin with pita bread) I'm getting hungry now thanx!

Buy tuna in olive oil. Also, add some cracked black pepper to the tuna and mayo.

Try chopped scallions instead of chopped onion, or you can add real mexican salsa, (REAL, not that pkg crap you get from junk food places!) Just use enough to add flavor, not to make your tuna soupy. If you're just trying to get rid of the fishy taste, suggest you switch to canned chicken. Makes sandwiches just like tuna, but no fishy smell or taste. Enjoy.

I hear ya, lower fat. I do a couple of things. I recently found wasabi mayo. It's spicy enough you don't need to use much (e.g. no need to drown it).
Also, mix with pico de gayo (sp?) chopped tomatos, cilantro, onions...
Olive oil is better for you than vegetable oil and you do have to have some so might as well pick the better ones.
