RCIA classes provide comprehensive instruction for those who wish to be initiated in the Catholic Church. They are beneficial for non-Catholics who wish to become Catholics, and are not intended as "general interest" seminars. There's a commitment required of those who enroll in them. If you are not looking for initiation into the Church, you can speak with a pastor, who might be able to direct you to somewhere and someone who could answer questions you have.
Good luck.

Are they beneficial for non-Catholics to benefit from them?
Is there any pressure to join the Church? Minimal; mostly the 'influence', not a 'hard sell'.

What are RCIA classes like? I found them more time consuming than anything else. Before I 'finished' the RCIA class, they (the teacher and the priest) had a meeting with each of the 'elect' (KJV term), of which I was one. The teacher said it, that I was not at that time a good candidate for being Catholic. That idea was fine with me.

The purpose of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is to prepare people who want to join the Catholic Church.

I know a lot of people who sent through this beautiful, faith-filled, and beneficial process.

You can go and ask any questions you want, you can stop at any time, and there is no obligation to become a Catholic.

If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group. This is the first step in RCIA.

With love and prayers in Christ.

RCIA classes are excellent sources of information about Catholicism. If you are seeking to learn more about the denomination, then this is one of the best ways to do so. There will probably be some pressure to join the Church, however you are free to withdraw at any time. I believe it would be very beneficial to anybody wanting to learn.

RCIA classes just teach you about the Catholic faith. There are set up to explain hte catholic faith to non-Catholics.

No, there is no pressure to join the church. i was a sponsor for a guy wanting to join. One of the other women decided not to join and there was never any pressure.

Yes, RCIA classes are beneficial, unless you are already perfect. :-)

If you are not an initiated Catholic you are required to attend the classes, which teach you about Christ and His message of faith, hope and love, and you learn about the elements of worship and their meaning.

After finishing RCIA classes you can receive babtism and confirmation.
